  • The New York Chronicles: Life of an OC Girl in NY - Entry 47

I just realized something. Back in those days during my rare moments at the gym, I'd notice people working out on the stair machines. Now, I've been taking the stairs, up and down the subway stations for over a year now and I STILL get tired. How can those people possibly do those stair machines for 30 minutes to an hour? I salute you stair people!

What can I say? It has been raining in New York for over 2 weeks now. What's going on here folks? Gimme some dry weather already! I'm soaked by the time I get to work. It'd be nice if rain didn't feel the need to fly in sideways under my umbrella to drench the heck out of me.
edit 6/19: ladies and gentlemen, we have a dry day!

Very wet day in NYC by you.

I don't know why, but every time I pass Times Square on my walk to work, I'm still in slight awe of the fact that I live in one of the most remarkable cities in the world. (My opinion of course, but not mine alone. )

Quick announcement: Everyone should watch UP in 3D. Here's Laura and me sitting in the theater waiting for the movie to start.

Bout to watch UP... 3D Baby! by you.

Moving on, moving on. Let's get caught up. I'm still catching up with April. Adam's birthday is a week after mine. He turned 27 this year. He's Sonya's boyfriend and someone I consider a great friend. He's definitely a unique individual. Forget the crazy hair, his personality is something to discuss as well. Never the less, Dan and I both love him.

Who doesn't love Japanese for dinner? That's Ryan, Adam's best friend who visited from Florida... ultra cool guy, might I add.

My drinking tolerance has gotten better, but I don't understand what happened. I had a cocktail during dinner and while at Ace Bar, I got really sleepy and passed out. What happens when you pass out at a bar is you get kicked out and kicked out I was.

I walked home and assured everyone I'd come out after a good nap. Nobody believed me and you know what? About an hour later, I showed up and waltzed into the Beauty Bar like it ain't no thang. (Note: I'm wearing shorts! The first time I got to do this in a LONG time!)

Moving right along so we don't waste any time. Melvin's birthday! Melvin has been someone I've grown quite fond of. He's Sonya's best friend from Florida and has moved here. We bond over Catholic and Christian songs and have a ball of laughter every time we hang out. I love the guy. (You might be asking, Gosh Anne, you love everyone. Well, no I don't.)

...and girls being girls. Sonya's other best friend Ying came into town and I'm so glad I got to meet someone that is so close to my NYBFF.

    Drunk Dan: You're Lamar Odom!
Lamar Look-a-like:  Man, why does everyone always say that!

I only had one little cup of sake that night so I was fine.

    Unfortunately, Dan did not.

It's getting late so I'll continue again hopefully soon!
    Sideways PEACE!

  • Wowzers cousin! Still blogging! Of course you are! It's your J.O.B.! hee hee.

It still feels like...this is that "one weird season" of the Anne show, that takes place outside of the usual set. But it's exciting nonetheless! Drunk Dan in front of Lamar-look-alike is my fave pic!
