  • Books books books!
For all your readers out there, I just wanted to share what I've been reading in my spare time.

In an earlier blog I wrote about how excited I was to read The Time Traveler's Wife.  It sure didn't let me down!  I was hooked and didn't want it to end.  Despite the title, it's more of a love story than science fiction.  The Time Traveler (who time travels involuntarily) meets his wife for the first time in his 20's, but the wife actually met her husband when she was 6 because when he was in his 40's he Time Traveled back in time.  Yeah, it sounds confusing, but it's a very good read!

I wasn't at all interested in reading The Kite Runner, but I kept hearing about it and hearing about and so I just had to read it.  It didn't let me down.  It was a very powerful book about the coming of age of a boy who lives in Pakistan when the war breaks out.  When he witnesses a tragedy, his life changes forever.

For One More Day is written by the same authoer as The Five People You Meet in Heaven.  It was a short quick read about a man how receives the chance to spend one more day with his mother (who is dead!).  Since I grew up with a single mother, it hit close to home, but I think this book is good for anyone.

I was pretty hooked on The Stolen Child.  I read it every night right before I went to bed and one night I had a crazy ass nightmare!  I was kidnapped by hobgoblins and replaced with a changeling!  This story is about two boys... one who is kidnapped by the hobgoblins to live in the forest to become one of them and never age and the other (a hobgoblin) who takes his place in the world.  Good book.
