The New York Chronicles: Life of an OC Girl in NY - Entry 53
Goodness, I feel like I've been away forever! Time to update because as I think I'm catching up, I fall behind more than ever as the days and activities and events in my life fly by like rapid fire.
We've been enjoying New York's summer sooo much! Here's a photo of Bryant Park before the movie screening of Harold and Maude... Yes... p-p-packed!
Check out this pic I captured of hubby coming home from work. He picked up dry cleaning beforehand. Isn't he such a handsome feller? I think so sometimes, at least.
He got me back later on in the night when we headed for dinner at Curry Ya. Yuuum...
We're still eating of course!
I'll be updating what I can remember and for the beginning of this post, I'm going to start off with what we did this past weekend actually. We went back to California for the weekend to celebrate my father-in-law's 60th birthday. That sounds like a lot of years, but he can play a mean tennis match (he plays everyday). He's more fit than I am. Lookin' good for 60, Daddy-o-in-law.
I've also got to catch up on posting about our July visitors and we had quite a few all in one weekend too!
It was nice to see all of our family and friends. Just as the last time we visited for my cousin's wedding, I became a little homesick, Dan was homesick this time because we'd spent so much time with his family.
Of course, friends always make us want to come home. We also got to say good bye to Allen who is leaving to Chicago for pharmacy school. Don't mind my Asian glow.
Okay! On to July visitors. Gina visited Bear early in July so we were able to hang out with her for a bit. We did LOTS of eating. Gina and I had a moment when we were watching 500 Days of Summer. We had a good laugh for about 10 minutes straight. Laughter is so awesome when it's not directed at you. Muahaha.
Then my visitors came the weekend after. Huyen, Anthony, Uyen, and Brian filled up the rest of the floor space we had left in our apartment. We had a grand ol time. Huyen arrived first so she could have us all to herself for a night... no really. Oh how I've missed her so...
Then the others arrived... Uyen and Brian... and then Anthony. Uyen, Brian, and Anthony have all visited already so it was their 2nd time.
Various photos of us hanging out... Ace Bar, East Village.
Times Square
Boka for dinner, St. Mark's, East Village
Dane and Tina at One and One for some dancin'
If you've been following me a while I attended a house music event called Festivus last summer. This year I wanted to go again, but wasn't sure if my visitors wanted to attend, but they did! Thanks for coming with me guys!
Eating Porchetta...
Here's a video I took during our "house" picnic.
Took B, Uyen, and Huyen to Fuerza Bruta... Amazing show, people!Huyen and I danced in the faux rain.
Le Royale in West Village where my favorite Dj spins. <3 Vikas
After dancing all night we were naturally hungry so we headed to K-Town which never closes...
It was like a movie... We busted into song at the restaurant and Laura got it on video...
I don't think the restaurant appreciated us singing so loud because everytime a song came on that we knew, we'd start singing and they would immediately change the song. Turns out, we know a good amount of songs! LOL. They ended up playing Korean music for the rest of our time there. Boooooooo, I say! Boo!
Huyen loved the NY rain so I took a video so she could remember this happy moment she had... haha. Guest starring in this video: Andinh and Diana.
For those who haven't been to Times Square, I recorded a video for you...
OH KAY! So that's it for my July visitors!
Since then, we've enjoyed many concerts, movies in the parks, eating out, exhibits, picnics, bike riding in Central Park, took a crazy adventure to Ikea, etc, etc... I've also gone to Hawaii, back to NY, to California, and heading for Belgium and Amsterdam this Saturday. I'm going to need to hustle and catch up!
And you know, I really hate my voice so those videos aren't done for my pleasure. How is it that I sound so deep and sophisticated in my head and it comes out so high and childish in my videos. GRRR!!!!!
See you soon!!! TA TA!!!!
