  • Stephanie's Bridal Photoshoot at mi casa

Stephanie and Huyen showed up at my house yesterday at approximately 9:00am... at approximately the time where I was NOT ready to wake up, but upon remembering what I was waking up for I was VERY excited.  Stephanie's bridal photoshoot!  I took a shower and ran downtairs started making breakfast for everyone... Thanks to Cuzzie and Dennis for helping.  Of course, Thank you to my hubby for waking up extra early to go to the grocery store for me.  We all had french toast, scrambled eggs, and mac&cheese.  Thao, Duy, and Laura (the photography team) showed up at about the time Huyen was almost done with Steph's hair.  After Huyen was finished with Steph's hair, we just stared at Steph and had a silent girl moment.  I started crying!  She was beautiful. =)  We went upstairs, I helped her into her dress and off she went!  Great job to the photography team!

Here Huyen is doing Steph's hair in my dining room.  This is where she did my hair for my wedding day.

Thaoie allowed me to hop in for this picture. Oh, Steph didn't have a bouquet so I cut that flower from my mom's garden.  Hopefully, she doesn't notice it.  Did anyone throw it away!!??!!

    Look at those hot shoes!

  • Books books books!
For all your readers out there, I just wanted to share what I've been reading in my spare time.

In an earlier blog I wrote about how excited I was to read The Time Traveler's Wife.  It sure didn't let me down!  I was hooked and didn't want it to end.  Despite the title, it's more of a love story than science fiction.  The Time Traveler (who time travels involuntarily) meets his wife for the first time in his 20's, but the wife actually met her husband when she was 6 because when he was in his 40's he Time Traveled back in time.  Yeah, it sounds confusing, but it's a very good read!

I wasn't at all interested in reading The Kite Runner, but I kept hearing about it and hearing about and so I just had to read it.  It didn't let me down.  It was a very powerful book about the coming of age of a boy who lives in Pakistan when the war breaks out.  When he witnesses a tragedy, his life changes forever.

For One More Day is written by the same authoer as The Five People You Meet in Heaven.  It was a short quick read about a man how receives the chance to spend one more day with his mother (who is dead!).  Since I grew up with a single mother, it hit close to home, but I think this book is good for anyone.

I was pretty hooked on The Stolen Child.  I read it every night right before I went to bed and one night I had a crazy ass nightmare!  I was kidnapped by hobgoblins and replaced with a changeling!  This story is about two boys... one who is kidnapped by the hobgoblins to live in the forest to become one of them and never age and the other (a hobgoblin) who takes his place in the world.  Good book.

    Oh, my aching body...

I went with Gina yesterday to 24 Hour Fitness to take a Piyo class with her.  It's basically a lot of stretching, balancing, and yoga type excersizes.  Boy was it painful.  I can't even touch my toes.  I hate to admit it, but I think I can barely go passed my knees.  It was painful to see some of the much larger people be able to touch places on their body I can only look at.  All that stuff with the balancing on one leg while posing like a "warrior" as they called it was quite tough for me too.  Geez!  Sad thing.  I finally peruaded the Fiance to join us and he was even more flexible that I was!  Too bad Thanh didn't come out earlier.  He could have joined us for the class instead of doing those manly sit ups, he could have been gracefully stretching and warrior stancing with us.  There were times I would want to laugh so hard, but held it in so I wouldn't be rude, but DANG!  If I keep this up, my flexibility and balance is going to be BOMB!

I was able to do THIS fine...

But when they got to THIS... Man it was over.  I gave up.

Thanks for inviting me to take the Piyo class with you, Gina.  Sorry I let you down... haha.
